My Interests and Hobbies

Travel: I didn't wander far from home when I was a kid, so I'm making up for it now. I've been to Italy, Switzerland, Amsterdam, a cruise in the Caribbean, and of course around the US and Canada. I was at Mardi Gras '95 for a few days, where I hooked up with Rhonda Shear. Beware the bible thumpers! A few international places I'd like to visit next are Rio de Janeiro and St. Petersburg. If you've been to any of those places, let me know!

Skydiving: I gave this a try, and eventually became certified. I'm not a fanatic like most people on the drop zone, but it is definately a rush that stays with you for weeks. I've only jumped from the site in Pepperell, MA and I hope to have some tropical jumps in the future. Ahhhhhhhh!

Scuba: (Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus) This is another thing I tried with an ex of mine. Now that I'm certified (and single), I have no one to go with. And scuba by yourself is not safe nor fun. I like it very much, and although the waters up in the north are cold and murky, I am still excited that when I head to the tropics I can skip the tourist dives and do my own thing. Those waters are beautiful.

Reading: I love to read. In fact I have a stack of books next to my bed that I can't seem to read fast enough, while I'm adding new ones all the time. I'd guess there's about thirty books there. I try to read a minimum of one chapter every night, unless it's really good - then I power through until I nod off.

Theatre: Some people look at me funny when I tell them I enjoy the theatre. I like going to shows, plays, and other productions. I find it relaxing and entertaining. My favorite of all time is Phantom of the Opera, although Blue Man Group has a strong position with me as well. Other honorable mentions include Stomp, Comedy of Errors, and of course the Nutcracker. I just visited the Medieval Manor in Boston (theatre/dinner). What a great time. I laughed, I cried. I highly recommend it.

Holidays: Like everyone else, I enjoy Christmas time. The snow storms get to you after a time though. However my favorite time of year is Halloween and the fall season is the best! I enjoy the costumes, the food (candy!), and the parties that go along with it. I've dressed up as a hobo, the Blues Brothers (sans hats), the Reservoir Dogs, desert storm commando, a mummy-pharaoh of Egypt, and a disgruntled postal worker.

Miscellaneous: Just a few things I've done but haven't pursued as much as I'd like to. I took a beginner course in hang gliding but ended up in a river. Someday I'll want a rematch! My family has a place on a large river in NH, so I spent my summers swimming, water skiing, and sneaking away from the parental units. I also enjoy snow mobiling in the winter time. There are lots of trails in the upper NH, Maine, and Canada region.

Adventure: I like to try new things. I keep a list of things I plan to do:
