                                    TEAM SPOTLIGHT

I'm stuck. Stuck in a never ending battle against my enemies. Enemies chosen for me. 
Enemies that I hold no ill will towards but am compelled to battle unto death. Some 
evil and fell magic pulled us into the world to fight against the heroes of the ages. 
I am Bold Savior, the four-armed being of light and goodness, and I was yanked from my 
heaven and compelled to fight against the heroes, the champions. The heroes facing the 
diabolic demi-god whom summoned me and my four compatriots, Bekhmenoetheth, 
Germensine, Zylekhieth, and Geralt--trapped in this eternal battle together.

That same fell summoning transported all of us and the nine champions into the sky 
where we have battled for hundreds of years. Even the names of the champions have been 
lost to the peoples inhabiting this world, and they are known by their constellation 
names: The Archer Mage, The Juggernaut, The Grand Vocalist, St. Lucius, The 
Lumberjack, The Slayer, The Angel, The Broken, and The Beast. I am very tired as we 
repeat the same battles over and over as the months display themselves across the 
cosmic calendar. I just wish this Great Sky Battle were over so that I could rest.

Briar peeked his head around the corner with a feeling of self-consciousness. "Hey, 
guys, why are we dressed in these stupid constellation costumes?" 
Germensine rolled her eyes as she chuckled, "Because we are in persona for our debut 
dude." 

At that Briar scowled, "But you all get to be cool, some sort of Angel or Champion, 
and I'm just a stupid sword!" 

Bekhmenoetheth patted Briar on the back while pushing him around the corner, "No 
worries, brother, everything will be all right." 

The twins, The Archer Mage and Bold Savior, chimed in, in unison, "Yeah, we love the 
cool costumes!" 

Briar just sighed as they all marched out to be introduced to the crowds for the 
Masked Warrior contest here in Kolact. 

Tallow smiled as he walked in behind them. He'd always wondered what his dream would 
look like in 3D.

                                      SPY REPORT

Attention gladiators, managers, and those foolish enough to make wagers with borrowed 
coin. I am Master Darque, and I am the Architect of Chaos for the next 12 turns in 
Kolact. While you were busy spilling blood and swinging steel, I was up above watching 
it all unfold. My quill was scratching, and my candles are burning low, so let's get 
this report to the printer golems.

We will get to the expected pageantry, and then I will give you the scoring for our 
little contest. But first, a few housekeeping notes need to be addressed.

First, you can join the contest at anytime you desire. Obviously, earlier is better 
for scoring purposes, but not everyone has that privilege. Second, the listed teams 
are those that contacted me about joining the contest. If you have not contacted the 
Commission for the entry fee, please do so at your earliest convenience. They will 
know by this listing who has volunteered the tribute. The third issue to address is my 
own participation in the contest. I have a team in the event, but I have restricted 
myself. I will not have a Masked Champion, and I will not challenge anyone during the 
contest. I will certainly use my avoids, but these are self-imposed restrictions to 
ensure there are no questions about the contest's integrity.

Okay, now onto the regular spy report. Bialar Crais remains enthroned, brutally 
repelling Six Summers in a long, punishing title bout. The blood has dried nicely. I 
might collect that later for a couple of spell components. There is no notice from the 
Commission on the board, so Bialar gets to defend again in two weeks.

Speaking of blood, Kaizar ended Bekhesh decisively. I would say permanently, but no 
one ever knows what deals the witch makes with the god of death each year. Farscape 
celebrated Bialar's successful defense, and then they had to deal with a death. I bet 
it was as comfortable as a cracked rib under platemail.

Covey II fled from Shewish Bakery. The stench of avoidance lingered for a while, 
probably longer than some of the corpses. Who can blame Pauly's crew, though? Did you 
see the tourney reports for Shewish Bakery? Smart move there! The most challenged 
warrior, or the gladiator with the biggest target on their back, is Crossfire of Brain 
Salad Surgery.

Death wasn't as rampant as I was anticipating, but the sands drank what little blood 
it was offered all the same. Some died for pride, some for vengeance, and some because 
they were standing in the wrong place when the steel arrived. So much for being 
poetic. Now, onto the real reason you're reading this report.
